These gaskets find wide applications as it is simple to use and any shapes can be made in fraction of seconds as it is just cut from CAF sheets and thus it got named CUT gaskets.

    Commercial brands available in India are Champion, Superlite, Ferrolite, Klingerite, etc.

    It comes out with variety of grades such as, Oil grade, Acid Grade, metallic steel insertions, non-metallic in sheet form. Range of thickness available for these sheets varies from 0.5 mm to 5 mm and in special cases it can be even 8 mm thickness.

    It is born to replace ASBESTOS products as Asbestos is ban in most of the European and western countries.

    However there have been enough problems to warrant careful consideration in choosing a replacement material for CAF (Compressed Asbestos Fiber).

    Most CNAF materials use synthetic fibers like aramid in conjunction with an elastomeric binder and this binder becomes more important consideration when determining applications.

    Simply speaking it is as good as CAF gaskets except free from asbestos content as asbestos are banned to take care of GREEN initiative.
